Are you interested in volunteering for the Fall Fair? But perhaps you aren’t sure what sorts of things there are to do?

  • There are some things to be done just before, during, and just after the fair.
  • There are some things that need to be done months and weeks before.

Areas where we are looking for right now:

These are the main positions that need to be filled. It should be noted that volunteers will not be working alone, there will be helpers to assist!
• Section Head for Adult Photography
• Volunteer Coordinator
• Site Manager
• Marketing, Public Relations and Advertising Coordinator
• Judges Contact
• Admissions Coordinator
• Entries

Some sections require people to assist.  The time commitments vary from 2 hours to a month:
• Assisting in the Sections  (See the catalogue for all the different sections)
• Admissions
• Data Entry
• Statistics
• Trophy Maintenance
• Decorating
• Housekeeping
• Entertainment
• First Aid

The Junior Section needs assistance: Here two Section Heads are needed: Preschool and Junior Hobbies

Activities closer to the date of fair:

Many helpers are needed in the week before the Fair for set up on Thursday and Friday evenings and for clean up on Sunday evening.

We require Security guards at the Lego display. There are eight 2-hour shifts throughout the weekend.

We require back door greeters.

Reminder for Grade 11 and 12 students: This is a fun easy way to earn your
30 hours of Volunteer time required for graduation.

If any of the above volunteer opportunities appeal to you and if you have skills you would like to share, please email to  info@sookefallfair.ca for more detailed information.

Or, why not meet us in person? Our meetings are usually held on the 3rd Wednesday of the month, at 7 pm in the Community Hall. (Check our website in case of any last minute change.) You are welcome to come and see if this is of interest to you — no obligation!
