You Are A Photographer
There are 2.1 trillion photographs taken per year around the world. Photography has seen a big boost in popularity with the introduction of cameras on cell phones. You most likely have several worthy images on your phone right now. The Sooke Fall Fair has a popular photography completion with many categories to fit your favourite images.
There are 40 categories to enter in the Adult Photography section. There are a wide variety of categories, from sunrises and seascapes, to people and pets. Last year there were over 350 exceptional images submitted by photographers in and around Sooke. Most of the categories are 4” x 6” but there are Black & White and Colour enlargement categories for those who want a bigger challenge. There are even Digital Manipulation Categories, for those who like to stretch their expertise. For a complete list of categories and rules for submissions, look for Section 6 “Photography” in this years Sooke Fall Fair Catalogue.
Entering is easy. For all your entries complete one entry form. Forms can be found in the printed catalogue, or on-line after July 8th.
Submit the completed form to the Sooke Fall Fair, then bring your mounted images and entry fees to the Fred Milne Park, on Friday, August 28 from noon to 8 pm. The rules in the photography Section require all images must be printed on photo paper and mounted on black or white card stock. Most categories require a 1.5” board around each image.
