Hemp (cannabis) as an agricultural plant
Hemp has been a misunderstood, yet beneficial agricultural plant used for thousands of years. Cannabis, another name for hemp, has also been used for thousands of years, for medical and recreational purposes.
Since cannabis has become legal in Canada we would like to make this section an educational opportunity. Please come out and see what we’ve done. We would appreciate all constructive criticism or advice for future fairs.

Yes, you can display bare, mature hemp stalks at public fairs in Canada. Under Health Canada regulations, bare mature stalks (without leaves, flowers, seeds, or branches) and their raw fibers are fully exempt from the Cannabis Act and Industrial Hemp Regulations
No, Under the Cannabis Act, you cannot display or give away cannabis products—including hemp or CBD buds—at public, all-ages fairs.
Displaying the actual plant material to the general public is tightly restricted to licensed retail spaces or adult-only events where minors are entirely prohibited.
